About

Hello,

I’m a writer. My novel ‘A Lady Cyclist’s Guide to Kashgar’ is published by Bloomsbury, reviewed by The New York Times, an LA Times Bestseller, Guardian/Observer Book of the Year 2012 and translated into 12 languages.

I’m also a travel and non-fiction writer, having written for Vogue, Lonely Planet and lots of other places. I’m a wanderer, train-hopper, garden-snooper, hotel-dweller and all sorts of other things that involve avoiding having a proper job. My short story ‘Laila Ahmed’ won the New Writing Ventures prize and you can read it here. My website with info about my books, events and so forth is here: www.suzannejoinson.com

This blog is a random scrapbook of eternal miscellanea.
